Sweden, The On-Trade leads the way in sales

David BECK Academic - Economics, Society and Political science - Environment and Technologies (AI, blockchain)
On-trade, the only part of the market where competition is allowed

Systembolaget is government controlled and is the only retail store licensed to sell alcoholic beverages in Sweden. An estimated 60 percent of wines are sold through Systembolaget.

Therefore most new players head for the on-trade, the only part of the market where competition is allowed. For larger chains they are buying mostly on price. For smaller independent restaurants – they are looking and yearning for new young producers who are true to their origin.*
